Last Friday all the Physics students in Year 11 around the state gathered at Mount Victoria for what was set to be an awesome day! Before we started our trip around the Blue Mountains we went to the Mt Victoria Campus to meet our teacher and do a quick prac on electrical energy.
After our quick stand up we went out to Mt Piper power station and learnt about the process of electricity produced by coal, being a very interesting part of the day we spent a little more time there than we expected to. After that we went down to the Western Sydney University Space Observatory and were given a lecture on space (boring), than looked through their telescopes at a couple of planets. Then in a great hurry to get the day over with, we travelled back up to the ‘Oaks Fire Trail’ where we unloaded our bikes and went for a lovely ride down into Penrith where we were picked up and driven back home (by that time it was 7:30 pm!!)
