The Kellyville campus children have been patiently awaiting the commencement of our new School Community Garden. They arrived back at school this term very keen to get our garden up and running. With the support of Ian Joyce and the community, we have been able to make this happen.
We have four new garden beds, which the children have busily been preparing with compost, manure and many other nourishing ingredients. The planting of vegetables, herbs and flowers will commence in week three.
Thank you to all of the children and parents who have donated seeds and/or seedlings for us to plant. We would really appreciate further donations of seedlings to fill all of the beds. Some suggestions are: parsley, rosemary, cherry tomatoes, silver beet, nasturtiums etc.
Thank you also to the parents who have volunteered their time to come and help the children plant, weed, water, harvest, etc. Hopefully later in the year, as the garden grows, we can share what we harvest amongst the school.
