“On Monday 24th April, a nationwide excursion took place at Mount Victoria. Two to four students from each campus from three states attended, NSW, SA and WA. Also attending were two of the creators, Andreas and Lewis, the NSW Management Team and Mr McGing.

The StarLAB team spoke to us about the upcoming competition, Python IDLE and Senses. Python IDLE is an aspect of Python programming which is used to write code to the rover. The text that you write shows up on the screen on the rover hardware device. Senses is the actual senses on the rover hardware which detect a range of senses such as acceleration, ultraviolet light and temperature. The upcoming competition will be held in Newcastle, although the crew will not be there. The rover will be programmed at school.

We had an enjoyable time and were excited to learn of the upcoming events with StarLAB including the competition and…BATTLEBOTS!”
