He also communicated the Treasury's important yet simple mission - to improve the wellbeing of the Australian people.
As the General Manager of the Macroeconomic division which adsives the Government on monetary policy and productivity, Simon was well placed to field many questions ona reange of topics, which included, but not linkted to the following: the role os the treasury, his department's role in providing econimic advice to the Treasurer, Joe Hockey, how does Australia continur to boost our productivity, what is Treasury doing to help smalll businesses, how do overseas economies such as China affect our wellbwing and how dod Greece egt into theor current economic situation & what policies are needed to overcome their challenges.
Simon likened the sophisticated nature of questions developed bythe students to the recent senate inquiry that he faced on 'Housing Affordability'. The students did an excellent job in prerating those questions, as did the year 10 girls who prepared a lovely and delicious spread of food for morning tea!
